Bei unserem Korea Madang am 22. März 2017 in unserem Büro werden wir die Organisation Okedongmu Children in Korea (OKCK) vorstellen und über zivilgesellschaftliche Aktivitäten in Nordkorea diskutieren.

Die Organisation Okedongmu (koreanisch für „Schulterfreund“) zählt zu einer der erfolgreichsten Organisationen Südkoreas, die zur Zeit der Sonnenscheinpolitik zahlreiche Projekte für Kinder in Nordkorea umsetzen konnten. Die Organisation hat sich der medizinischen Versorgung, Ernährungs- sowie Bildungsförderung nordkoreanischer Kinder verschrieben.

Unsere Referentin Frau Choi Hae-Kyung ist Generalsekretärin von OKCK. In ihrem Vortrag wird sie von OKCKs Projekten in Nordkorea und die veränderten Standpunkte der nord- und südkoreanischen Regierungen seit 2013 berichten. Mit einem kurzen Videobeitrag wird sie ihre Organisation vorstellen.

Dieser Korea Madang wird als Brownbag Sitzung veranstaltet. Alle Teilnehmenden werden deshalb gebeten Speisen mitzubringen, die wir in der Runde teilen werden.

At our Korea Madang on 22 March 2017 in our office, we will introduce the organization Okedongmu Children in Korea (OKCK) and discuss work in North Korea.

The organization Okedongmu (Korean for “shoulder friend”) ranks amongst the most successful organizations in South Korea that were able to complete many projects for children in North Korea during the time of Sunshine Policy. The organization is dedicated to foster the health care, nutrition and education of North Korean children.

Our referee Miss Choi Hae-Kyung is the general secretary of OKCK. In her presentation, she will talk about OKCKs various projects in North Korea and about the changing attitudes of the North and South Korean governments since the year 2013. She will introduce her organization with a short video clip.

This Korea Madang will be a brown bag session. All participants are encouraged to bring dishes that we can share amongst ourselves.
